Research shows that people who have accountability partners have far better adherence than those without. My Care Circle allows patients to connect with others who can encourage them to follow their care plan. Using the HealthStar app, people added to the patient’s My Care Circle will be updated on the patients progress in completing the assigned medications, tasks, surveys, and quizzes in a chat.
The patients and their care circle members can then communicate in group chats to share progress, struggles, victories and encouragement.
To begin using the My Care Circle, patients will need to assign themselves a chat alias (if they did not already do this as part of their account creation process). To do that, go to More section and select My Account. Under Settings select Chat alias.
There the patient can select an animal avatar, their name and their color.
Once an alias has been configured, the patient will need to add people to their My Care Circle. To add members, go to the More section and select My Contacts.
There the patient can add the contact information for each of their Care Circle members. It is important that the e-mail addresses provided are accurate as it is required to receive an invitation to download the HealthStar app.
Once the member has received their invitation (be sure to check junk mail / spam if it is not received), they can click on the link to Accept the Invite. This will direct the member to download the app (either from Google Play or App Store). Patients can check the status of their My Care Circle members by viewing their contacts.
After downloading the app, they will configure their chat alias and profile.
All My Care Circle members will receive notifications about the patient’s progress both on the home screen and in their Chat.
Patients and members can use Chat to communicate and view updates on their task adherence. Please note that any message sent in the My Care Circle Chat will be sent to all My Care Circle members.
